The Brief: This family had outgrown their garden and now their children were young adults, they wanted to transform the unloved muddy patch into a smart garden that they could use to eat out and entertain in.

The Solution: The contemporary garden design included two patio areas using clay pavers to provide flexible seating and a built in barbecue to enjoy alfresco cooking and entertaining. The paved areas on different levels are divided by a lawn and generous planting. The garden is wrapped with painted slatted trellis and pleached trees provide further screening at the end of the garden. Garden lighting extends the garden’s use into the evening and creates an attractive view from the house.
